There is simply no end to the workload a family caregiver carries when they are in the midst of providing compassionate care to a loved one.  Family caregivers are required to be available practically any time and any place, major holidays included.  They are keenly aware of the challenges they face as they juggle the multitude of responsibilities including but not limited to health issues, personal care needs, child care, family communication, career responsibilities, social obligations, doctor appointments, grocery shopping, etc. etc. all the while looking after a loved one 24/7/365.  The holiday season is not different and often brings no reprieve from the huge responsibilities.

At Clarity Care Advocates and Clarity Care Givers we spend a great deal of time coaching family caregivers on the commitment they must also have to themselves.  We remind them their loved one can truly only be as well cared for as they are kind and attentive to themselves and their own needs.  This holiday season and with humble gratitude, we offer the following to all caregivers.

Our Winter Wishes for Family Caregivers:

May you recognize your amazing strength and value and begin to set aside a block of time each and every week to renew your strength.

May you find yourself surrounded by good friends and allow yourself to turn to them for support and allow them the opportunity to be of help to you.

May you remember and act upon the truth you can only be as good to your loved one as you are to yourself and therefore put your needs on your calendar too.

May you walk forward fearlessly to establish relationships with professionals who support you and advocate for you as a family caregiver as you guide your loved one’s wishes for their health, happiness, and security.

May you have peace this holiday season and comfort in the knowledge you truly make a difference in the quality of this universe.

Happy Winter.
