When to Seek/Hire Some Help?

It is our desire at Clarity Care Givers, LLC  for anyone in a care giving role to become profoundly aware they will need support no matter how capable they are.

How does a care giver know when they need to seek support?  In a life where care giving is involved, a simple list to deliver food-for-thought can be much more appropriate than a narrative of ideas and advice to read through.

We hope the following list answers the question of when to seek help and motivates care givers to evaluate the items on the list that resonate with them.  If one or more of the items resonate, it is time to seek help or even more help.

When a care giver steps into support options and out of the spiral of care-giving-out-of-control, it becomes the most direct route to caring successfully.

THE LIST FOR WHEN TO SEEK/HIRE HELP:

  1. The moment a care giver realizes they cannot do it all on their own
  2. As soon as care needs are chronic permanent, and no longer temporary
  3. Sooner versus later
  4. When the goal is to prevent institutionalization
  5. When each day is consumed in the care of someone else
  6. The moment daily exhaustion, anger and guilt are uncomfortable
  7. When the person being cared for could benefit from a fresh care giver
  8. When the care giver’s health care needs are last in line
  9. The moment the care giver grieves for time for themselves
  10. Before the only option seems to be moving a loved one from their home
  11. When getting through the next day is the only plan, equals there is no plan
  12. If the responsibilities of care giving are in every topic of conversation

Taking care of care givers, whether it is self or another person, is THE most valuable work in the world.
