The longest darkest day of winter is upon us as this big blue ball we call home sees the sun return to the northern hemisphere. There is a calm available around this time we can tap into and allow it to continue into a new calendar year. As we prepare our calendars, many of us take time to reflect on our lives, our plans, our goals and our dreams for the coming New Year. Worldwide, this time of winter is recognized and often celebrated with gatherings, rituals, festivals, and themes of new life.
Oh winter, we do welcome you. The hours of daylight will gradually grow longer. Our instincts to hunker down with family and friends will be stronger. Our hope for a meaningful quest will be rekindled. The cycles of the seasons are fresh in our minds like the cycles of our lives. Can we see the reflection of the seasons in each day, each week, each month, each year? There is a beckoning in our universe drawing us forward like the return of the sun to the northern hemisphere.
At Clarity, our hope for this time of year is for all of our clients, friends, care partners and family to truly recognize their ability to bring forth their greatest hopes and plans. It could be as simple as conquering a recipe for something fantastic you have always wanted to bake or as difficult as hiking the Hoh River Trail in Washington. Whatever it is, we can hold the space with you for your plans and dreams and we will envision your success.
2017 has brought forth enormous opportunity and pleasure to do what we love. Clarity was most fortunate to serve hundreds of people during 2017 through meetings, phone consults, care consulting/assessments, advocacy, and caregiving up to and including 24-hour caregiving in homes. We have been able to build upon established connections with many amazing individuals who are full of integrity as they go about the work of serving older adults. We have also had the experience of making many new connections with awesome senior serving individuals and companies throughout the year. It is our privilege to connect with and refer to the best of the best of services focused on the well-being, planning, and caring for older adults in Indianapolis and the surrounding areas. We are thankful to serve in the role of trusted advisor.
With more winter months ahead we will embrace them with the hope for yet another springtime. As day turns to night and then to morning, as the week builds to the weekend and then to another Monday, as the months move from season to season to the start of a new year, we are grateful to be on this little patch of the northern hemisphere with you.
Happy 2018 to you and to yours.
